Karen became a part of the Champaign County Auditor’s office on May 1, 2009, where she serves as Chief Deputy Auditor.

Professionally, Karen’s employment history includes over 23 years at the Lucas County Auditor’s Office in Toledo, Ohio. Karen began her career as a file clerk and eventually worked her way up to senior staff where she served as Director of Taxation for over 13 years. Her responsibilities included assessment, collection, accounting, reporting, settling, and disbursement of over 62 million per year.

A trained management analyst, Karen enjoys creative problem solving and reorganizing workflow. Her analysis in governmental functions resulted in Karen developing employee-training programs unique to the needs of governmental agencies.

Educationally, Karen possesses a Master’s degree from the University of Toledo where she graduated in 2006. Prior to receiving her Master’s degree, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Communication in 2000, and an Associates Degree in Applied Business – Legal Assisting Technology in 1992.

Personally, Karen is a married, mother of three, and grandmother of two. Karen was born and raised in St. Paris. Before her family moved away, Karen attended Graham High School where she proudly marched as a member of the Graham Dancing Band during her freshman year in 1976.

Karen is thrilled to have an opportunity to return to her hometown community.
