Steven R. Hess

Mr. Hess was raised on a farm in Concord
Township along with two brothers and a sister. He attended Graham schools and Concord Methodist Church and was active in 4-H, F.F.A and high school athletics. After graduation in 1970, he attended
Wilmington College, earning a degree in Agri-business. He started his own farm operation in 1972, which he continues to operate as a no-till cash grain operation.
A member of Champaign County Farm Bureau since 1974, he has held various positions at the county level, serving as county president in 1995
and 1996. Elected as state trustee on the Ohio Farm Bureau board of directors in 1996 representing a 4 county district, he continues to serve in that role.
Currently Steve serves on the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, and representative of the Board of
Commissioners on the Area Agency on Aging, Caring Kitchen, Juvenile Detention Center, RC&D/Mad River Conservation, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Main Street Urbana, Community Corrections Planning, Dog and
Kennel, Economic Development Council/CIC and Regional committees.
Now living near St. Paris in Johnson Township with his wife, Marsha and two
of their three children, they are members of Concord United Methodist Church.
