In April of 2004 The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office issued its first concealed carry permit. Since that time hundreds of citizens have received their permits from the Sheriff’s Office.
To obtain a concealed carry permit you must have a valid certificate of completion from a state approved concealed carry handgun course. These certifications are valid for six years.
Bring your certificate, completed application, Ohio drivers License or state I.D. card along with $67 dollars (exact change please) to the North Main Street Office. The Sheriff’s Staff will then begin the background check process. The permit can not be issued until the background check is complete. This can take up to 45 days but most commonly takes one to two weeks.
Renewals fees are $50.00.
